Toyota Mirai Reviews
Total Aggregate Score
4.5 / 5
The Mirai is many things at once in many different contexts, but to the end user it simply drives like an electric car with a much longer range and shorter turnaround time when fuel is running low.

Expensive but credible hydrogen pioneer is enormously bold and significant.

The Toyota Mirai is comfortable, quiet and very cheap to run. It has a long list of standard equipment, too, and the electric motor’s instant torque means it has plenty of punch for overtaking.

The future has arrived, and it’s expensive. Will it ‘do a Prius’ for fuel cell cars?
6 / 10
It's called the future and the Mirai is a pretty good stab at it. It isn't as sexy or desirable as a Tesla, but it drives more like a 'normal' car, which is astonishing given the complex technology. And three minutes' refuelling time versus hours waiting for an electric charge gives it the thumbs up.
2.9 / 5
The Mirai is hugely innovative and good to drive, but its high purchase price and the UK's very limited hydrogen infrastructure excludes all but the most committed early adopters - for now.
