Toyota Land Cruiser Reviews
Total Aggregate Score
8 / 10
More rounded and user friendly and better mannered on road than previous versions, this Land Cruiser is Toyota at its best. Genuinely capable of crossing continents without flinching, the V8 variant boasts a hugely capable diesel engine and powertrain.
4 / 5
To sum up, from the driving seat the Land Cruiser is an extremely able car on and off the road. It also carries a deal of authentic mud-plugging kudos from its 50-plus year history. For any car buyers prioritising off-road driving, the Land Cruiser is automatically a very strong candidate.
3.5 / 5
On difficult terrain it's hugely impressive, helped by sophisticated and genuinely useful off-road systems, allowing it to tackle seemingly impassable ground. Unfortunately it's not so good on road, especially compared to alternatives like the Land Rover Discovery.
3.3 / 5
The Toyota Land Cruiser is mighty off-road, and good reliability means it's a bulletproof 4x4. It has the kit of a luxury car, but it's expensive to buy and run.
3 / 5
The Land Cruiser makes perfect sense for the wilds of Africa, less so for British towns.
3 / 5
The Toyota Land Cruiser is the ideal car for when the going gets tough, and is cheaper than its rivals, too.
5 / 10
If you live in the desert, the Land Cruiser is as good as it gets. But seeing as we don't, the Discovery is a much better bet.
2 / 5
The Toyota Land Cruiser is roomy and great off road, but it’s expensive to buy and run, and noisy and sluggish to drive.
