Toyota GT86 Reviews
Total Aggregate Score
5 / 5
The affordable performance car that we’ve been waiting for.
9 / 10
Glorious return to form for Toyota's rear-drive coupe line.
4.3 / 5
The Toyota GT 86 is a real back-to-basics sports coupe. It’s rather low on polish and finesse, but is simply brilliant to drive.
4.2 / 5
Enthusiast-sating sports coupe with a degree of practicality.
4 / 5
With its dramatic looks the GT86 promises much and, on the whole delivers. The rear-drive, front engine layout ensures an engaging experience but you'll need to work the engine hard to maximise it and the car's potential.
4 / 5
The Toyota GT 86 combines great fun and excellent value in a good-looking package
3.5 / 5
It all comes down to whether or not you like the handling. If so, you'll probably enjoy the GT86 very much. It's certainly a smart-looking car and has a lot going for it, but unless Toyota comes up with a more flexible engine and sorts out the front suspension we'd rather have a Mazda MX-5 instead.
6 / 10
The Toyota GT86 brings slithery, nimble, rear-wheel-drive entertainment into the realm of road-legal speeds. It's a fabulous enthusiast's car and an absolute hoot to drive on the right road. Unfortunately, on every other road it's a bit of a chore, with a bone-shaking ride and an engine not unlike that of an old Subaru Legacy.
3 / 5
The Toyota GT86 is a sharp handling sports coupe that places driving pleasure above everything else. Great fun on the right road.
