4 / 5
A more focused steer and still a performance icon, but now a bit too expensive.
7 / 10
What sets Subaru's WRX STI apart from the mainstream opposition is its stubborn, no compromise approach to high performance motoring. The WRX is for keen drivers who know what they're doing and care more about driving than badge snobbery.
3.5 / 5
It's far more focused on simply being very quick from A to B. For that reason it's less comfortable, less luxurious and less forgiving, but much better at doing what it does best: demolishing B-roads in nearly any driving conditions.

A car that returns to trade on past glories. The game's moved on, Subaru.
3 / 5
The Subaru WRX STI remains a charismatic, exciting driver’s car with enough attitude and aggression to whet anyone’s appetite.
3 / 5
You have to manhandle the WRX STi to get it going, due to the heavy gearbox, clutch and steering, although once on the move it’s easy to live with.
2.7 / 5
The Subaru WRX STi is a flawed but fun performance car that offers great value for money, but little in terms of comfort or luxury.
