Sir Jackie 'RBS' Stewart has spoken out against Lewis Hamilton and other young F1 drivers over them not joing the GPDA, the Grand Prix Drivers Association. The GPDA campaigns for safety in F1 racing and has managed to bring about many safety changes in Formula 1 since its inception. Jackie Stewart was quoted by the Daily Telegraph as having said, "The GPDA did an immense amount of good. "It is wrong and complacent of Lewis not to be involved. "Lewis is such a valuable asset to the sport. "The media talks to him more than anyone else. "One of the reasons I got so much done in terms of safety was because I was 'the guy' at that time." Lewis Hamilton and some other drivers have said that they don't have the time to be able to commit and are kept more than busy with their sponsorship commitments. The GPDA is currently headed by Pedro de la Rosa, Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso. |
