| Massa put in a very strong lap to secure Pole in tomorrows Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang. The stunning lap by Massa saw him take pole by a margin of nearly half a second over his Finnish team mate. McLaren occupy row 2 of the grid, but it is Kovalainen not Hamilton in P3. At times it appeared Hamilton was not going to make it onto row 2 but a decent final lap helped him secure his position. It was a tough day for the Williams team with Rosberg ending up in 16th and his team mate securing 18th. Nakajima will have to start last however due to a penalty and being dropped down 10 places. The Williams Technical Director Sam Michaels had this to say about their performance: "This morning we had a bad run on Nico’s car in practice with a hydraulic leak which cost us some set-up time, but even so it would be difficult to see how we could have made it into the top ten and our qualifying performance needs improvement. We’ll now look to strategy and put together the best race plan we can to get the cars into the points" |
