Its real skills are only revealed when you chose to go off road, and in this context the G-Class is almost unstoppable.
3 / 5
Regarded by many as one of the most enduring and iconic cross-country vehicles, the G-Class combines impressive off-road abilities with a prestige badge, a high quality interior and upmarket equipment.

There's is still a demand, though admittedly a very small one, and Mercedes has reacted to it by updating the car very effectively. This is undoubtedly an unusual car, but we can just about see the appeal.
6 / 10

5 / 10
There’s no escaping the fact that the G-class is a relic. Its rugged styling is undoubtedly appealing, and it’s been cleverly brought up to date (and upmarket). But beneath all the chrome and leather, it feels very dated to drive.
2.2 / 5

2 / 5
The Mercedes G-Class is a bulletproof rugged off-roader with a cabin trimmed in luxury materials.
