Mercedes CLA Reviews
Total Aggregate Score
4 / 5
An assured new baby Benz and a looker, too. Diesel engine is the best bet initially. Packaging has been sacrificed for style and the chassis lacks sparkle, not that buyers will care that much for this almost guaranteed hit.
4 / 5
The CLA is a very accomplished car and is a genuinely good prospect for those looking for a break from the hatchback norm without moving up to the likes of the BMW 3 Series and even Mercedes-Benz C-Class saloon.
4 / 5
The CLA-Class may seem like an odd choice, since it's not as conventionally good-looking as other coupes, but it's certainly an interesting alternative to the A-Class on which it's based.
3.5 / 5
If you want a small four-door saloon and sleek looks are more of a priority than comfort or practicality, the Mercedes CLA fits the bill nicely.
7 / 10
With its striking and streamlined appearance, the CLA offers a more stylish take on the conventional compact executive saloon. For all emphasis on the design, practical compromises are minimal, with there being sufficient room in the cabin to ensure the CLA appeals to a wide audience.
3 / 5
The Mercedes CLA is a sharp looking four-door variant of the A-Class, and rivals the Audi A3 Saloon.
3 / 5
There are bits to like about the CLA. It’s an honest car to drive, for example, and it steers consistently. In fact, there’s a slightly old-fashioned feel to the way the CLA goes down the road that really isn’t unpleasant.
5 / 10
Not what Merc should be doing. Focus on engineering, not trying to invent another niche.
2 / 5
The Mercedes CLA will convince a fair share of buyers on looks alone, but there are rivals available at the same price that do things better.
