Review Summary
There’s no denying the revised AMG A 45 is more usable than its predecessor, but it still isn’t quite the driver’s car Mercedes claims it to be.

The Telegraph
Review Summary
The A45 is also on sale at a time when Mercedes is at the top of Formula One and in some ways reflects what is happening in the modern sport. It is, after all, smaller, lighter and more efficient than fast Mercs have traditionally been; it uses turbocharging to boost the performance of its petrol engine; and, if you just so happen to smash one of the mirrors, it’s going to cost a fortune to replace.

Review Summary
It combines hatchback family car practicality with breath-taking performance, incredible levels of grip and running costs which are fairly low consider the speeds this car is capable of. It isn't cheap, though.

Review Summary
Whether it fits the huge price that Mercedes charges is another, much thornier issue. There is class-leading power and pace here, and quite possibly the looks and quality to go with it.

Review Summary
The A 45's party trick is the way it sizzles away from a standing start. Through corners it's effective but not particularly exciting, though in the near future we’ll see if Mercedes has managed to improve its handling while developing the uprated model.

An immensely fast and capable car to drive. But Golf R remains better to drive.

Review Summary
The Mercedes A45 AMG is ferociously quick in a straight line and round corners. However, rivals such as the BMW M135i are cheaper and more engaging.
