4 / 5
This Ford is a good all-rounder, so at the end of the day it may be something as simple as styling which sways you towards one SUV above all the others. With that in mind, we’d say the Kuga has a good chance of luring in many looking at family SUVs.

The new Kuga is safer and roomier. We’ll miss the old one, though…
3.5 / 5
Playing the part of a high-rise family holdall, the Kuga is hard to beat on paper and in the real world.
3.2 / 5
The Ford Kuga has recently been facelifted to keep it competitive, but its dashboard still lags behind some rivals.
3 / 5
The Ford Kuga is a smart and capable midsize SUV, but rivals look and feel more modern.
6 / 10
The Kuga isn’t a bad car. It’s very safe, for starters, and that’s something for which it should be commended. But while you probably won’t find it a disagreeable car to live with, there are quite a few rivals out there that are easier to drive, more spacious or cheaper to run.
3 / 5
The Kuga is competitive in some areas, but there are a number of better options, notably the excellent Mazda CX-5.
